Desford Squash - 2024 business

Dear Member,

As I am sure you are aware last year we set up the internal leagues at Desford Squash. This had a lot of interest but sadly seemed to fizzle out and not that many games were being played. As it's the start of a new year I would like to restart the leagues.

They will run in the same format as the previous ones but this time I am going to place a paper version behind court No2. All the scores will need to still be inputted through the MyCourts website like previously but can also be written on the board. I am hoping that if people see the games being played this will encourage others to get involved and they will become a brilliant set of leagues. Also please do not forget club night that runs every Thursday from about 6pm. This is £2 on the door to join for a couple of hours of squash with a range of different players and abilities attending. It's a great way to meet people at the club and believe that the sports bar in also open on a Thursday night so after dry January has finished you can enjoy drink as well.

The teams are still running and this kick starts again next week, the first home fixture is Tuesday 23rd January 2024 against Burton Squash. They always put a good team out and there should be some good squash played. Please come down and support, you never know, you might catch the team squash bug. It would appear that the automatic light system is now running without issue (nothing reported to us for several weeks). We would like to thank you all for your patience with this whilst we sorted to issues out. If you do have an issue please let us know.

This year we will be looking at a new door entry system so we can remove the need for a physical key. How this will look has not yet been decided but we will keep you updated with progress.
