Introduction of internal squash leagues

Dear Member,

At Desford Squash we are wanting to start the running of internal leagues within the club. Previously at Huncote Squash we have successfully ran around 13 league consisting of 6 players per league for many years with a great participation rate. We are wanting to start these league at Desford Squash to allow for people to play and meet new people.

Dependent on numbers I would like to have 5-6 players in each league. There will be a time scale to play all others in your league, this will be a cycle time of 6 or 7 weeks. At the end of the cycle the winner of the league will go up a league and the bottom player will go down a league. After a few cycles the order of levels of player should sort itself out so you should be playing with players of your same ability. There will also be no cost to be part of the internal leagues.

Below are the rules of the leagues.
1. It is the players responsibility to organise the games between themselves.
2. The cost of the court will be split between both players.
3. The match will consist of a first to 11 point (point a rally) and be a best of 5 games.
4. Each player will receive 1 point for turning up and playing and 1 point per game won.
5. Games must be played, and scores added to My Courts before the end of the cycle.
6. If there are multiple players on the same score at the end of the cycle, the most wins will go up.

My agreeing to be part of the leagues you are agreeing that we can share your information on the My Courts system to enable other players to contact you. This will be your first name, surname, and mobile number.

We also currently run a club night on a Thursday night, the attendance to this is very low and consideration of whether this will continue is being looked into. If you want to continue having a club night, I encourage you to participate in this otherwise the courts will no longer be reserved.
